The Starlite is the world's 1st modulated reverb with tap tempo controlled rate. The release of this pedal marks a giant leap forward in the world of time-based effects and will revolutionize how you use and experience reverb.
The Starlite is an offshoot of my ever-popular "Stargazer" reverb. The Stargazer is known for being an extremely musical reverb. I expanded upon the ambient capabilities of The Stargazer and pushed the circuit to its limits. The Starlite features an atmospheric, present reverb with the same self-oscillation capabilities. The addition of thick, pulsating modulation makes The Starlite the ultimate ambient experience.
The tap tempo feature allows you to accurately synchronize your reverb to the tempo you are playing as well as the other timebased effects, adding a rhythmic dimension to your reverberations.
Version 2 incorporates a fully redesigned LFO section with smoother, quieter operation as well as the addition of a ramp-up/ramp-down knob for added control of the modulation.
The Starlite is a pedal that is designed with ambient players in mind. The best use of the pedal is with mix and decay set high.
The Starlite is unique as a reverb because of the fluidity of the modulation. It can be used in instances where you want a synced time-element, but a delay feels too present and you want a subtler, softer feel. It can also be paired with delays for some interesting combinations.
The Ramping knob is new with V2. It allows you to have further control and flexibility. Ramp-Up (left) is great for blooming reverb textures that grow slowly and then rapidly retract. Ramp-Down (right) feels more abrupt and less subtle.
Faster rates of modulation naturally sound more present than slower rates. For more vibe-y tones, use a faster tempo.
For more ambient, sound-scaping tones use a slower tempo. In extreme settings, you may notice a small amount of LFO noise. This is normal and a common by-product with analog, optical modulation pedals.
