The Frontier Of Fuzz

The Orbital Fuzz is ushering a new era of fuzz and tonal possibilities. Pedals made with silicon and germanium diodes cannot achieve the depth, warm, and reach that is possible with the Orbital Fuzz. This pedal pushes science to the limit and explores the frontiers of fuzz and distortion. It provides a new playing experience and goes outside the box like never before. Discover the true potential that 21st century technology provides, and explore the frontier of tone with the Orbital Fuzz.

Out Of This World Tone

Inspired by the iconic Big Muff Pi circuitry, this pedal is designed to unleash a crushing amount of fuzz for an out-of-this-world tone. The Orbital Fuzz houses four potential clipping pairings with two carbon N2 molecular junctions and two traditional silicon diodes. With the simple flick of a switch, this pedal allows you to explore a new frontier of tone with its carbon quantum tunneling options. The silicon & carbon settings can be paired together in series with two separate gain stages to create a vast array of fuzz tones.

Fully loaded with two Nanolog Devices, the Orbital Fuzz produces a heavy and thick fuzz driven by a process called quantum tunneling. Playing the Orbital Fuzz is a truly unique experience: its multiple clipping options combined with tone, gate, and fuzz control allows for a totally immersive experience. The carbon settings deliver an enhanced touch sensitivity that allows the player to dive deeper into the fuzz universe than ever possible before.

SPECS

Volume
Controls the output volume of the pedal, and should be adjusted as needed. With the fuzz at lower settings (who does this, really?), it will be a bit grittier in character. As the fuzz increases (now we’re talking!) there will be more volume overall. The clip toggle settings and the gate will also interact with the volume.

Fuzz
Controls the fuzziness of the signal. Backing off of the fuzz level will lower compression, while higher settings will provide that screaming, feedback-laden tone that we all love.

Tone
Controls the overall brightness of the signal. Adjust to taste. When the clip toggles are in Si setting, backing off the tone can give a warmer tone, while higher tone settings will really cut through the mix. Caution - high settings of tone with Si clipping in both sections can take your head off!

Gate
The gate controls the amount of signal and noise that pass through the circuit, and will enable a gated, velcro-type of ripping sound when turned up. It will also kill all of the signal at extreme settings, so best to start with this knob at zero (all the way counter-clockwise)! Adjust upward if you want to get a ripping velcro texture, or if you need to tame a bit of noise from your rig.

Clip Toggles
The Orbital Fuzz has two gain stages in series. Each of these gain stages use either Si (silicon) or a Nanolog Device (carbon) to achieve clipping. These toggles can be adjusted as needed in any configuration. With both is the Si position, a cutting, bright tone results. With both N2 toggles selected, a huge, warm sound results that really brings a lot of girth and thunderous tone. There is also a notable change in feel, as Si is compressed in nature while the N2 settings provide much more dynamic range. Experimentation is encouraged here - different combinations will provide different feel and tone!
