What is the Module 4, from Drybell?

January 22, 2023

The Module 4 is a compressor for the non-believer, and pays deep homage to the original Orange Squeezer by Dan Armstrong. Drybell’s accurate recreation of the tiny orange box (that you’d plug directly into your guitar… as long as it wasn’t a factory Strat) added enough extras that will make even the most faithful OS disciple, weep.

Module 4 can WARM your tone while keeping all articulate nuances intact. The Module 4 is a compressor that covers more ground than almost any other compressor out there. And… for all the Orange Squeezer faithful’s, Drybell thought enough to include the EXACT parameters you’d need, directly on each knob. Just look for the dots around the controls, aim the 6 knobs and you’re in OS heaven.

From Drybell:

“Compressor is one of those effects that once you try it, you’ll question how you ever lived without it. It can do so many great things, making the soft parts louder and the loud parts softer while adding sustain or changing your EQ, making it ideal for funk, country chicken-pickin’ tones and many other different styles. And it’s not designed for guitar only, it will sound great on bass, keyboards and vocals. We have tested it in many applications with great success.

Whether you choose to use it as a subtle always-on tone enhancer, dynamic changer or as a very powerful booster, the compressor is a must-have pedal in any gear arsenal and the Module 4 will help you experience the best of its kind.”
